Sights and activitire in Villa Clara | Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba

icon arrow leftClick items on the left menu to learn more about some of the most interesting and popular sights and activities in the Cayos of Villa Clara (Cayo Santa Maria, Cayo Las Brujas and Cayo Ensenachos), and surrounding areas and towns in the Villa Clara province.

We strongly encourage visitors to discover the other faces of Cuba, beyond its gorgeous beaches, because the area is also rich with cultural, ecological, historical, nautical and entertainments sights, activities and for everyone. All of these places can be visited on your own or as part of an organized tour, and some of them are official stops of the Panoramic Bus (the double-decker bus that loops continuously around the cayos).

Please note that it’s not recommended to travel by scooter outside the 3 cayos, if you want to visit the surrounding towns (Caibarien, Remedios, Camajuani, Santa Clara, etc.) on your own, you need to hire a taxi or rent a car. If you choose to rent a car then avoid getting back to the cayos after sunset, the 48-km causeway is not lit and doesn’t have any guard-rail; it may be somewhat dangerous for a driver who is not accustomed with this road.

For information about the other cayos (Cayo Coco, Cayo Guillermo, Cayo Paredon Grande, and Cayo Cruz) which are also part of the King’s Gardens archipelago, please visit our Jardines del Rey section.
