Departure by bus (around 9 am). Visit an ancient sugar mill now converted into the "Museo de la Agroindustria Azecarera" (Sugar Industry Museum), where is summarized the history of the sugar production in Caibarien, from 1850 to 1998. Taste a freshly squeezed “guarapo” (sugar cane juice), and receive as a gift a bottle of the local rum Mulata. Take a trip on board an early 20th-century steam train to reach the town of Remedios for a city tour of this picturesque colonial town.
Go to the cigar lounge of Playa Cayo Santa Maria to enjoy a unique experience of pairing cigars with rum. Open-bar + lunch are included for one hour.
Suggestions on what to wear and bring:
Comfortable shoes and wear, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, bottled water, camera, cash for souvenirs, drinks and tips.
