Electricity in the rooms of the hotels in Cayo Santa Maria is 220 volts. Outlets (with ground) can receive polarized flat connectors (North American) and round (European).
In the bathrooms, there are two types of shaver outlets, those combined with hair dryer or those murals. There are outlets for 220 and 110 volts. IMPORTANT! These outlets are for low power (wattage) device to be used only for small electrical appliances such as razors, battery charger, etc.

The Barcelo Cayo Santa Maria Beach Colonial has the most electrical outlets per room. During our stay, we counted more than ten!
Most battery chargers are now dual voltage (110 volts to 240 Volts) and works very well on a cycle of 50 or 60 hertz, but it is perhaps not the case for yours. If you must bring your voltage regulator, make sure you have the necessary power required. To plug a hair dryer requires much more power (watts) that a battery charger. Please be advised!
We always bring with us in vacation an overload protection device, which also serves as an adapter for different outlets in the world. It is manufactured by Swiss Travel Products Company. It has a fuse (110V - max. 275W and 220V - max. 550W). Click HERE to visit the website of Swiss Travel Products.
For ecological and energy saving, it is best not to let the air conditioner running when you are not in the room. In most cases, they are quite effective and thirty minutes or less are sufficient to cool the room. PLEASE do not let the air conditioner on with open doors!
