There are several projects underway in Cayo Santa Maria and in the other islands. The most important is the Phase 2 of the Barceló Cayo Santa Maria. It should be completed in 2010-2011.

Hotel in the west sector of Cayo Santa Maria

This project is in development (2009).

A 5-star hotel of 350+ rooms. This hotel is supposed to be a Paradisus (unconfirmed) from the hotel chain Sol Meliá. Click the image to see the enlarged format.

Hotel in the east sector of Cayo Santa Maria

This project is not started (2009).

Hotel in the central sector of the hotel district of Cayo Santa Maria

This project is not started (2009).

This hotel is located between the Meliá Las Dunas and the Barceló Santa Maria Colonial. Information to come.

Pueblo Las Dunas

This project is under construction and should open in July 2010.

It is located between the Melia Cayo Santa Maria and the Meliá Las Dunas. There will be several services ($) and inclusions for customers of Sol Meliá hotels.

Dolphinarium

This project is under development (2009).

It is located on nearby cayo called Cayo Ensenachos. Currently, the closest dolphinarium is located in Cienfuegos (several hours away).
