 Taxi

There is a  taxi service available 24hrs in all hotels of Cayo Santa Maria and the Royal Hideaway Cayo Ensenachos. It is mandatory to book in advance, especially if you want to go to the near villages.

  • Cayo Santa Maria @ Caibarien (round): 35 CUC / (return): 65 CUC
  • Cayo Santa Maria @ Remedios (round): 40 CUC / (return): 75 CUC
  • Cayo Santa Maria @ Santa Clara (round): 65 CUC / (return): 130 CUC
  • Cayo Santa Maria @ Cayo Ensenachos (round): 5 CUC / (return): 10 CUC

    •  Rent a Jeep

    To visit Cayo Santa Maria, the surrounding islands and even the villages between the airport and Cayo Santa Maria, it is possible to rent a car or a Jeep (manual transmission only).

    For rentals, you must provide your driver license and your passport (photocopy is sufficient). The rental price includes insurance.

    The vehicle is rented with full tank, you must return it in this condition, or you will pay the difference.

    The only  service station near the resorts is in front of the local airport of Cayo Las Brujas.

  • Jeep: 47 CUC (including insurance) for the first 100 km (0.35 CUC per extra km)
  • Auto: 59 CUC (including insurance) for the first 100 km (0.35 CUC per extra km)

    •  Rent a Scooter

    You can be one or two persons on a scooter, but it is better to take one scooter per person, because the seats are small and the scooters are not very powerful. Beware of sandy trails, because sometimes there are potholes. Wearing a safety helmet is mandatory in Cuba.

  • 1 hour: 10 CUC
  • From 1 @ 2 days: 31 CUC/day
  • From 3 @ 5 jours: 22 CUC/day
  • More than 5 days: 18 CUC/day

    • Please, do not drive your vehicle if you are drunk even a scooter! The roads in Cayo Santa Maria are not lit, can be slippery and sometimes with potholes.

     Bike

    All hotels have bicycles you can use for free (one hour per day). They are generally in the same areas as the rental office. In an environment of salt air, it deteriorates more rapidly and bicycles are no exception. A bike is good to visit the neighborhood (not the villages !!!!)

    Sol Cayo Santa Maria

    The rental location is located in front of the building's main reception. The building on your right past the gate.

    Meliá Cayo Santa Maria

    The rental center is located opposite the offices of tour operators (near the buffet restaurant).

     

    Meliá Las Dunas

    The rental center is located near the parking lot, on your right after the gate.

    Barceló Santa Maria Beach

    The rental center at the Barceló Santa Maria Beach is located near the parking space, right past the front gate of the hotel.

    There is a free shuttle bus for people going to the Pueblo Cayo Santa Maria. There are restaurants, bars, disco, massages, bowling, etc. Tourists from all the hotels may enjoy the ride to visit the Pueblo.

    Please note the services are not part of your all-inclusive travel package.
