Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba

A paradise of pristine beaches
and endless blue waters
Located in the Jardines del Rey archipelago
North of the island of Cuba

Since the hotels in Cayo Santa Maria occupy only a quarter of the cayo in the western part, the eastern part remains untouched. We visited this sector both in 2002 and 2006. Standing out among the other points of interest is Playa Perla Blanca. A beautiful virgin beach divided in two sections. Renting a scooter to visit this inhabited part of the island is a fun thing to do. Figure 15 minutes to get to Playa Perla Blanca from the Melia Las Dunas. Next time we’re there, we will visit the section further east. There is a path that brings you to the southern end of the cayo. On a clear day, with a good eyesight!, it’s possible to see Cayo Guillermo! |
