Caibarien village

Caibarien is the last village before reaching the 48 km dyke or causeway that gives access Cayo Santa Maria (CSM) Since the hotel’s openings, many village workers must reach CSM (or Cayo Ensenachos) every morning to work at the hotels.

The Cuban government decided to erect new structures in Caibarien to house the tourism workers, specially the ones living in Santa Clara.

After renting a jeep and paying the toll for the causeway (2 CUC) we headed towards Caibarien. We had a great time visiting this small fishing village, but had to come back before nightfall since the causeway lacks in lighting specially for someone not use to it!
